What Are the Challenges in T Cell Activation for Cancer Therapy?
Despite the promising strategies, there are several challenges in T cell activation for cancer therapy. One significant challenge is the tumor microenvironment, which can be highly immunosuppressive. Another challenge is tumor heterogeneity, where different cancer cells within the same tumor may express different antigens, making it difficult for T cells to target all cancer cells effectively. Additionally, there can be issues related to the toxicity and side effects of therapies that enhance T cell activation.
