One of the main challenges in targeting SASP is its heterogeneity. The composition of SASP can vary widely depending on the type of cell and the nature of the stressor, making it difficult to identify a one-size-fits-all therapeutic strategy. Furthermore, completely eliminating SASP might impair its beneficial effects on tissue repair and immune surveillance.
