In cancer research, this means avoiding the exclusion of certain populations, such as minorities or economically disadvantaged groups, who may otherwise not have access to cutting-edge treatments. Researchers must also ensure that no group is disproportionately burdened by the research, such as by ensuring that control groups receive the best available standard of care.
